Where do i stand???

Hello...umm I wanted to pursue Undergrad studies in Economics or English Literature. I am an Indian student and have no idea about what to do.......hel please!! My profile is below...

X Result (CBSE)- 90.2%
XII (CBSE)- Expecting AT LEAST 80%
SAT I- 1910 CR-650, WR-580, MATHS- 680
SAT II- Giving this december, Maths 1 and Literature

ECs- I have a green belt in tae kwon do, have trained in classical Indian music for two years, and Bharatnatyam for one year. I had also been a part of a band, called Reeth Rock band, in Lucknow (a little more than 5 years ago, have given a performance too). I have taken part in plenty of cultural festivals, and in one of the Indian cultural exam, scored distinction. I have achieved a certificate for academic excellence in Business studies from my school. I have been a part of my school's NGO club, and have gone on trip with school on an Orphan support center called SOS. During my grade 10th, I used to teach Maths, English and Science to students from class 6th to 8th. I also helped out in an Ashram (Ram Krishna mission) in Gwalior as a volunteer occasionally on Sundays, and once in New Delhi branch of the same. The total number of hours I spent in these Org. is more than 100hrs. I am currently the editor of the school magazine, and have been Class Monitor/ representative so many times that I can hardly count anymore. I was also a volunteer during my school's Sports event. I have been a Guide (Girl Scout), thus a part of Bharat Scouts and Guide Association. Although, I had to leave because my current school doesn't support it. I also have been a part of coming-with-seasons Kind of stuff too....

Do I stand ANY chance in Cornell? I am in dire need of Financial Aid too......and in search of quality education... HELP!!

It seems like your SAT’s are low. Could you take them again in hope of raising your score.

Fellow Indian here :)

What are your 11th marks?

You have very good chances of getting into Cornell IMO

From the looks of it, you are an international which makes it even harder for you to get in. Also, financial aid for internationals is generally much worse than U.S. residents. Your SAT scores are below average, but that is one facet of your application that you have control over. Retake your SATs if at all possible. I wish you the best of luck!

I can’t retake my SATs…not before application deadline goes down…I will retake SAT in January…(i think), but that will be way past the date right?

I thought Cornell doesn’t consider writing scores, else the CR and Maths scores of mine are good enough…right?

“Do I stand ANY chance in Cornell? I am in dire need of Financial Aid too”

No.
