<p>So I might be worrying too much, but... I live in Kansas City, Missouri. Most guys that I know just buy whatever is cheap or on sale from walmart, target, or khols. Looking at my wardrobe,... I will need an update for college. I have never paid attention to what I wear till recently... So, before I go out and buy newer, better fitting clothes, I was wondering where most of the guys in Cali get their clothes. I can't afford anything over $40 for shorts/pants/jeans and $25 tops for shirts. Nothing expensive, but I am sick of the overly baggy walmart stuff... (I splurged after christmas at an Old Navy sale and got some nice jeans, big change from walmart... ;P) I am 5' 10" and 155 lbs (about 30 waist and 31, 32 length). any suggestions??? (I have heard H&M has good prices, but is their any stigma to buying from there...????)</p>
<p>PS: what about shoes??? tennis shoes?... i'm helpless when it comes to fashion/style</p>
<p>You’re worrying way too much. I’m writing this wearing basketball shorts and a ratty t-shirt from a football camp I went to. Nobody will care where you get your clothes from. Just have shorts, jeans, and a few polos. You’ll be fine. Nobody will care.</p>
<p>Do a google image search of santa clara students and see what styles they have on. I suspect you’ll need flip flops. Once you see some of the styles you like, old navy is good for inexpensive. Go to a J Crew outlet store too and buy sale stuff. Just get some solid shorts that are kind of plain. Get some solid color t shirts in different colors-- my kids hate pockets on their t shirts. Get some Santa Clara gear. Get some athletic shorts. get a pair of jeans. Get a couple of polo shirts and maybe a flannel shirt to wear kind of like a jacket.</p>
<p>My son, who is local and dresses pretty much how all Californians dress in this area, wears Nike shorts that we buy at Costco and t-shirts. Buy SCU gear (t-shirts, shorts) when you get here. You will be in fashion. An SCU sweatshirt or two as well. This area is totally casual. Don’t worry at all. You will fit in just fine!</p>
<p>About shoes, my kid and most of his friends wear Vans or other board shoes. Flip flops work too.</p>
