I’m wondering if anyone knows where parents of Auburn parents get info from other parents? I use this site for my S, who will be attending another school, and it’s REALLY been helpful! Please advise!

Hi katorres…When we were looking at schools we also noticed some great colleges were active on college confidential and some great colleges were not. The Auburn board is one of the quiet ones. However, you will find people are very helpful and posted questions tend to be answered quickly. The Auburn Parents association also has many great resources available - both linked to the Auburn University site and on the Parent Association facebook. Overall our experience at Auburn has been positive and communication with the school has been very good.

You can post here – Eaglereader is correct – the Auburn thread is pretty quiet compared to the Bama threads, but we do check this thread to see if a question pops up. The folks at Auburn housing, honors, or admissions are pretty diligent in answering any questions you may have as well. You can always PM one of the “regular” parents too. I have a D @ Auburn, and a S who will be @ Bama.
(Yes, we are a “house divided”!)

i hadn’t needed to go on the auburn thread for a while, as my son is a junior there. so when i checked in tonight i was really surprised! i’ve never seen it empty like this in the 4 years i’ve been checking it. weird! i will say auburn has been fantastic to my son and every time i’ve inquired about anything, staff has been super!! (my daughter goes to uga, so another house divided. haha)

I was reluctant to admit that we also will be a “house divided”! My D’s twin brother will be going to Bama! Thanks for the posts and encouragement. I have really benefited from the Bama CC posts! :)

So glad someone started a thread a like this. My D will be attending AU in the fall!

My DD will be there in the fall as well.

My D went to Alabama and my son to Auburn! However, my husband and I are Alabama grads, so the Tide rules at our house!
Auburn is a whole different atmosphere from Alabama - much more small town and cozy, probably because it IS a small town and the campus is a bit more isolated.
We really enjoyed our son’s time at Auburn and missing going there to visit him, now that he’s graduated and working in Birmingham.

My S is a senior at Auburn and my D is a sophomore. It’s a great place! Auburn Parents Association (AUPA) is on Facebook. That’s a good place to stay current with what’s going on. As your students get more involved at Auburn, so will you. Both of mine are in greek letter organizations, my S is a Tiger Host and my D is involved in the leadership program. Camp War Eagle is also a great opportunity to connect with other parents. Good luck to your students and War Eagle!

You can always post here. There are a lot of parents stopping here and willing to help.
