Where do these colleges stand on internationals?

No superwizard, I meant 30% increase for internationals not a 30% chance.

bump, cheers

Shore, Williams IS need blind for internationals so theoretically not needing financial aid wouldn’t boost at all. I say theoretically because applications usually give enough clues about the student’s financial situation for the admissions committee to guess who needs and who doesn’t.

For the most selectives, I think you’re chasing a false assumptions – that being able to pay will boost your chances. Super selectives are looking for interesting kids who do interesting things and that is intensified for internationals, just because the admit rate is so low.

The no-aid thing may be meaningful in the next tier, however. (I mean in selectivity, not academics.) Graduates of my son’s international high school, many of whom did not qualify for aid, were successul at JHU, Tufts, CMU, Grinnell, Macalester, Hamilton, Kenyon, Bowdoin.

My guess is that Duke would fit in this category. I’m not sure about Georgetown because it’s on the list of so many foreign students.

Bottom line they don’t just want your money. If they want you it’s because of what you will contribute to the campus community.
