Volunteer work
For an entire year freshman year, i tutored an underpriveleged 4th grader
for the last year and a half i have volunteered every sunday for an hour and a half at a soup kitchen
i run a charitable website for refugees
most likely going to Sri Lanka this summer to help out with victims of the Tsunami

I have a double legacy at Brandeis, and my parents were head of the county alumni assosication so im going to get in there. Do you think ill get into any schools that rate higher than Brandeis i.e. cornell, upenn columbia brown etc

I am a white male from lower NY, not NYC though by the way

NYU is at a peak right now, all the alumni are dumb. The fact is, a college degree is like a stock - you never buy at the peak - that is why i wont go to Wash U, NYU etc. Mich is too big for my taste, Georgetown too catholic.

And yes, its an organized thing sort of, i know someone well whos from SRi Lanka, and his uncle runs a tsunami relief agency there, so i will help out for a few weeks.

because NYU has gotten so dramatically better, the people whose kids are going there now, they went in an era when it was as bad as CUNY. It's very chic now to go to school in the city, so it got hot, esp with columbia being extremely diff to get into
