Where do you find need based aid?

Other than filling out FAFSA and CSS? Are there websites that you can search for only need based aid without looking through a thousand other scholarships or grants?

The largest chunk of need based aid for most students will come directly from colleges in the form of institutional grants. They will be included as part of your FA package. However, not all schools are created equal in terms of endowments and how much need they will meet with grants. Also, some schools that do not meet need reserve the largest grants for the students who they most want to attract.

^^ what saintfan said. FAFSA and CSS are just forms the colleges use to determine what federal and state aid you may be eligible for, and then to consider you for their own aid from their own money.

Some schools promise to meet 100% of need for all accepted students, some don’t. You can find % of students who applied for FA, the % who got it and the % who got all they needed, etc. at a few different web sites, I like this one:

[College Navigator - Wittenberg University](<a href=“College Navigator - Wittenberg University”>College Navigator - Wittenberg University) is a typical entry. You can find similar stats for most any college there.
