Where do you plan/ will live after college? Why?

College: Albany, NY

After: back to Long Island or New York City, Denver( may be a bit to brown for me though), San Francisco or San Diego, Seattle, or maybe Austin. Notice all the warm places, I think I’m starting to get tired of the cold and snow. But Seattle’s rain might be too much for me since I hate cloudy days.

More realistically. Back to LI/NYC with my dad or might end up moving to Allentown,PA with my mom.

hopefully abroad somewhere, if not then Portland, OR or the bay area

Depending on job (International Business major): Mexico City, Buenos Aires, San Jos

New York City (might as well be the capital of the world) or Bay Area (job opportunities).

Enjoy your 1 room closets in NYC and SF, everyone.

^Seriously. I’m not moving to NYC unless I have the bankroll to back it up. I refuse to live in the projects or have multiple roommates.

Europe:
Italy or England or Greece…

Or if worst comes to worse:
Oregon, Washington, CA, or New England

I live in NYC and my apartment is 2,000 sqft.

Granted, that’s a lot less than an apartment anywhere else, but I think it’s decent for NYC.

NY or Boston. Maybe even London. I want to be an urban planner and use that as my stable job and stick to my dreams of becoming a writer. So hopefully I happen upon that!

Decent in NYC could buy you a house in a lot of places.

For good reason.

Not really…

Except “a lot of places” isn’t where I live.

^And some people prefer location to apartment/house size.

I’d rather live in a small, apartment with character in a city than a big, new house in the suburbs, even if it’s going to cost me more. Different strokes, I guess. Just means I gotta eat a lot of ramen and drink cheap beer.

NYC and SF has so much to offer, living in a 1,500 sqft probably doesn’t raise many concerns.

“DC and I have the same personality.”

That’s not possible as DC is purely a commuter town with no pride and/or personality.

1500 square feet in the heart of NYC is a godsend. Cut that in half, add a roommate and double the price. That’s more realistic for a first apartment on a first-year salary. Most of my friends who moved to NYC ended up living in NJ and commutes to work. No offense to NJ, but yeah lol.

I like NYC but I love money more. I refuse to be a slave to student loans. I know NYC is in my future so I’m not buggin’ out if I’m not living there post-May.

San Francisco!!!

The average NYC apartment is between 600-800 square feet. 1,500 square feet is a like getting a lottery for a first-time renter.

Your just speaking of the Manhattan area right? I would assume outside of Manhattan 1500 sqft is a common.
