I hate classes where the seats are all in circles or a big circle. It makes it very hard to file to the back and sleep :(.

Now that I think about it, every one of my classes last year had assigned seating. But the seats are set up very differently in all of my classes, not the typical rows and columns you often see at all, but in years past when they were, I was more of a middle-dweller

Some of my classes had assigned seating, but after a few months most teachers didn't care (only if they were anal about that alphabetical order thing).

If given a preference, I prefer to sit in the first two rows. I really hate being behind more than 1 or 2 people because their slightest actions distract me and I often can't see the board with their heads in the way. (TALL PEOPLE DON'T SIT IN THE FIRST ROW!)

Almost all my HS teachers had assigned seating.

The best was my Philosophy class...we all just kind of sat wherever we wanted and the teacher took roll because he really knew us well, not from where he sat and not by calling out names. Yes, he had a seating chart, but he didn't really care if we weren't strict about it.

front and close to the board

even if the teachers assign seats my last name is an E so I'm usually in the front 3rd row or so

In the back. :)

If I have a choice, I sit on either edge of the room, preferably near a tall bookshelf.

Near the front, I can't see and am too lazy to get contacts/glasses (=

Usually in the front two rows toward the left.

depends on class
if the class is interesting then middle to front
if the class is boring then back.

Most of my classes are usually by alphabetical order, but if i have a choice then its around the middle because you can talk to people in the whole class as opposed to being on one side of the classroom or in the back and not being able to talk to people on the other side or in the front

Usually if there's someone I know, I'll sit near them whether they're in the front or back.

"Beside the hot girls. So everytime they have a question, they come to me."

never thought of that before......doubt there'll be any hot girls in my classes from now on though since I'm going full IB :(

I sit in the front normally. Glasses/Contacts/surgery doesn't/wouldn't help my vision so I have to sit where I can see. :(

where the teacher can't notice me

In the very back, and I draw all through class... then confuse my teachers when I ace their classes :P

=O me too!

i sit in the middle-ish

Back Corner or on the left side (preferably near a window).

Although, since I'm going to a liberal arts school, I doubt I can sit in the back anymore =(.

middle/back with girlfriend. or random friend, or friend of girlfriend who also happens to be my friend. generally near the back.
