Does anyone know: For the 2011 commonapp, where can you type the activity name? There is only a dropdown list and what happens if your activity is not among the list? Do we have to type it onto the description line?

For example: I do MUN, so I choose Student Gov/Politics and type MUN on the description line?

can we type our activity name (for example MUN) onto the activity blank instead of choosing from the dropdown list?

I’ve been putting the actual name of the activity under “details and accomplishments,” because I have several different activities that fit under “music: instrumental,” for example. It seems like it would be a lot easier if, along with the drop-down menu, they had an “activity name” field where you could type that in.
I’m not sure whether to put HMUN under “student gov/pol,” though, because I feel like that’s referring more to participation in a student council-type organization. It does seem like the most appropriate heading, though, other than maybe “other club/activity.”

I’ve just been selecting the type of my activity (ex. science/math, cultural, etc) from the drop-down menu and then putting the name of the activity along w/ any leadership position in the blank for “position held, honors won, letters earned, or employer”.
what are we supposed to put in “Details and Accomplishments”? a description of the activity, like what we do in it? cuz that blank has a character limit.

I like your idea, suitcases! I’ll write the activity name in the description too.

This whole dropdown list thing is just so dumb…

^agreed, it wasn’t there last year, was it?
