We have sidewalks near my house. Luckily, I live in an area where you can walk to places you need to (convenience store, drug store, grocery store, many restaurants including Mexican, Italian, Chinese, and Thai, and much more). But, we still have to drive to work :(

i wish they would build more sidewalks b/z i wanted to start walking to the places that i want to go. you cant get anywhere around here without driving

Someplace warm...Lets see

Hong Kong
Maldives
Brunei
Israel
California..anywhere but SF and a few other counties with the ridiculously high taxes and stuff
Ireland in the summer
Italy sounds good
Australia
Goa, India

I don't really see the point of living in Texas, except for the fact that they have fairly lax gun control (not as nice as Vt, but oh well, its a tad warmer). If I had to choose a southern place, Atlanta or some nice city in Miami would be nice.

Places where I would not live

Middle East (except Cyprus, Israel or UAE)
Africa (any part, at all!)
South America (maybe Arg)
Europe (most, except Italy, southern Spain, Ireland, Estonia, Lux or Norway)
SF, Mass, NY, RI, most New England states (terrible weather and terrible politics)

Where I Would Live:
1) Newport, R.I.
2) Cape Cod/Nantucket/M.V.
3) Washington D.C.
4) Charleston, S.C.
5) Boston
6) San Diego

Places where I woud not live:

Hialeah, Florida or whatever.

Africa (anywhere) MAYBE South Africa or Egypt. Depends on the area...

Middle East (except UAE, Cyprus, or safe parts of Israel

TURKEY = Neverrrrrr.

Eastern Europe.. except Russia.

Most South American countries besides Argentina and Brazil.

PS - Why do all you guys want to live in Newport?

Estonia is not part of EU. I don't want to live anywhere in the EU and their idiocy. France is definitely a no no. Ireland is probably better than living in UK...you can have quality Guinness right where its brewed.

I am sorry that maybe I have to disappoint you but Estonia is a member of the EU since two years now. So maybe you have to overthink your decision where you want to live and where not... ;)

Sigh. I was going to outdated information. Scratch Estonia. I don't mind Ireland even if its part of EU though. Its mostly free.

Barcelona is not mentioned once in this thread....disapointing
My top four:
Barcelona
London
Munich
DC (close to home)

iloveagoodbrew-

If you live in Australia you can get Tooheys for cheap...thats good beer

NYC is my number one because it's home.
Hamptons
Greek Isles (santorini, mykonos)
London
Spain -- either Barcelona or somewhere like Marbella

bonus 3 : LA, Algarve in Portugal, Nantucket (or Martha's Vineyard)

Two brews I used to think was good but they really are not: Fosters and Castle Lager.

But there's nothing like having a few good brews with friends while watching a good cricket game.

i would live in:
California..probably near Laguna beach but not in LB so i wouldnt be copying my sister..Weve been going since we were babies.
Manhattan...I live nearby its great...
Sea Cliff area(i live there) There these cute condos on border line of SC an Glen Cove and there right near the beach i would die to live in one of those..
InternationallY:
London...
Spain...

Newport, which was founded in 1639, is a small, peaceful, maritime city. It's home to a number of beautiful mansions and gardens. It's perfect for those who enjoy yachting. You need to bike through the streets or walk down the waterfront in person to know what makes Newport such an amazing town.

Id change cricket to football. I dont really watch cricket. but yea..a good game with a can of stella artois...ahhh
