Where does alternative energy fit at Purdue?

An interest in alternative energy seems to fit into different engineering departments at different schools. In your opinion where does wind, solar, etc fit at Purdue? Are there any specific research projects or student clubs with thus focus?

Wind turbines= Mechanical (designing the turbine and propellers).

Turbines (maybe?)/ solar/ batteries = Electrical (anything with wiring really).

Student clubs: Solar racecar at the very least.

Thanks @Seirsly‌. Was hoping for more clubs at such a large place. Also a bit surprised I cannot locate any profs researching in the area.

I’m neither electrical nor mechanical engineering, so I have a very limited knowledge. Solar racecar is just big enough that I know of it.

Quick google gave me:

And that was just the first page of results.
