Granted it's a holiday weekend but it feels like a ghost town... like during winter break when the campus was closed.

2/3 of the undergrads are from Georgia. Pretty much everybody goes home on long weekends.

It's so easy to get to the beach, the mountains, hiking, camping, caving, out-of-town socials, etc. There is plenty to do on campus, too, for the weekends when you stay. Plenty of music/arts on-campus as well as off....

Anyone know how far away is G tech Campus from the China Town in Atlanta?

we have a chinatown? lol...

Buford Highway is about a 10 min drive on the interstate. The asian stuff is more toward the northeast past the airport (closer to the middle of Atlanta it's mexican stuff mostly).

Oh, we're talkin' about Buford Hwy.

but yea 10-15min drive, tho Buford is more mexi than asian

Well you're the one from Atlanta, but from what I've seen the asian part of Buford is pretty expansive as well (maybe 5-10 miles long). Many of the buildings are fairly low profile, even the point of being unmarked. It's definitely not a "china town" as you might see in SF though as it's not very densely populated.

Most of the Asian population is North around Lawrencevile.

Sorry, lol. I moved away many years ago, so I am not sure how it is now, but there used to be a lot of Asian markets there so I called it ChinaTown in short.
