UCR is moving up. I heard they just got approved for a medical school. They're moving up.

Personally, I think if you're going to get your panties in a twist over something as trivial as college rankings on an INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD, that perhaps you should reconsider.

Just my view. :)

elihj- thx for the statistics..assuming they are the most recent (class of 2010?) they do shed some light on the selctivity question that was raised earlier

but just from anecdotal evidence it seems like possibly Davis is being more selective this year than those statistics indicate, ie hearing of some who are in at SB, but rejected at Davis...

If you dig through the UCD Admissions officer's posts on this forum, you'll notice how he talks about how they accepted too many people the year before, and how they need to cut down this year. It doesn't mean a thing when comparing the schools, though, since they're all in the same neighborhood in terms of academics.

yeah I'll have to agree w/ him...
plus, by the time you graduate, the rankings will likely have reshuffled once again.

Excuse me, but there is actually a mistake in the U.S. News Rankings for top colleges and universities. The mistake came from a miscalculation from reports received from UC Davis. For more info read the UC General threads.

For those who wish to know the "standings" of the UC system, it looks like this:

CAL
UCLA
UCSD
UCD (Davis is indeed 4th)
UCSB
UCI
UCSC
UCR
UCM

a "miscalculation" ....hahaha.

What's a "CAL?" California Advanced Library? Culinary Arts Livery?

Collected Absolut Liquor?

Oh, you mean "Cal," as in the university. :p

Sorry, I felt snarky for a second...
