Where ED???

I am trying to decide where to apply early decision. I really want to study econ/business/public policy. I care a lot about prestige and want to go somewhere that gives me a lot of post graduate options. I guess my number one choice is Wharton, but I know it is extremely hard to get in. Other schools that I have considered applying early decision after visiting the schools are Penn SAS, Duke, Brown, and Dartmouth. Based on my stats, where should I apply early?

I would go with Wharton b/c it is the #1 undergraduate buisness school. Also, you have very good stats. so I think you’d have a great chance of getting in ED.

First of all, that is not how ED is supposed to work. You are supposed to apply to your very favorite school that you would attend above all else ED…not a school that you “wouldn’t mind attending.”

With that said, you are absolutely competitive for Wharton (very competitive…haha recently alot of rly competitive ppl have been posting chance threads here). However, if you come from a lower to middle class family, I would consider applying RD to Wharton…u will be very competitive there too.

You “guess” Wharton is your first choice, or you know? Like Rtgrove said, don’t apply ED somewhere because you think it will boost your chances–apply because you undoubtedly want to go there and want your decision early.

That being said, if Wharton is your first choice, go for it. If you know business is your thing, nothing is going to match Wharton, not to mention Business and Public Policy is one of the undergrad concentrations. You sound very, very competitive, so don’t let Wharton’s acceptance rate scare you away. Be able to express you interest in Wharton and Penn in general, as Penn is very into accepting students it considers matches (since SAS is another ED option, I assume you like Penn for more than just Wharton). Your leadership positions look great, especially if you show how meaningful they are to you (as opposed to resume boosters).
