Definition of a true safety school = 90+% guaranty, and high selectivity index (or low depending on how you define it) Your list does not meet that criteria.

Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Duke
Northwestern
U. of Chicago
Brigham Young
Indiana

Harvard
Princeton
UC Berkeley
UC Davis
UCLA
UC San Diego
UC Santa Cruz

Northwestern
USAFA
USNA
Iowa State
Nebraska-Lincoln

The fact that Lincoln is going to pay me to go there is making all too tempting to choose over Stanford, that is in the hope that I'll get in though.

Columbia
Northwestern
Johns Hopkins
Wheaton (IL)
Pepperdine
U. of Washington
a few other safeties

Georgetown
NYU
Duke
UCLA
UC Berkeley
UC San Diego
UC Santa Barbara
UC Santa Cruz
UC Davis

(Guess I got a little trigger happy on the UC Application...)

-Ender

I don't think there is any school I would want to go to that has a 90%+ acceptance rate...and wanting to go there is by far the most important criterion. Anywho...if I don't get into Stanford, I'll just apply to UMD or George Washington University.

UPenn - Wharton
Harvard
Claremont McKenna
WashU in St. Louis

Yale
UChicago
UPenn- college
Duke
Brown
Georgetown
Swarthmore- legacy
BC
UMich
Another safety that gives me lotsa $ (probably St. Joe's in Philly)

I know it's a lot, and I probably will not end up applying to all, but it's a substantial list and I really don't want to delete any school because I love them all so much. Stanford, though, I love the most. :D

Collegehopeful...is Yale a really close second to Stanford for you? If I get into Stanford, I'm only going to apply to Yale, and if I get into both, I don't know what I'm gonna do...I love the residential college system at Yale ALOT...but not much can beat California.

run4fun- I am in the same position as you. I think Yale will be the only other school I apply to as well if I get accepted to Stanford. And I will have already sent my UMich app by then too...

Well so far, Northwestern and Duke are the most popular colleges among Stanford EA applicants. Heres the list of colleges with 3 or more ppl applying so far: (feel free to update...remember, you can edit the post yourself)

1- Duke- 4
2- Northwestern- 4
3- Harvard- 3
4- WUSTL- 3
5- Penn- 3

Duke, HYP, Dartmouth, Wash U, Northwestern, and a few back-ups (yes, that's a lot).

Duke is my true second choice. (I'm not getting in HYP if I don't get Stanford.) I already have credits there and would have a head start. It's an excellent school if you don't mind the horrid dorms.
