Where else are you applying or have gotten in?

no one here may be applying to bc...however they got like 26000 applications this year (about 10000 more than uva gets...). however...i've said it before and i'll say it again...why? its disproportionately hard to get into for what it is. if you can get into bc - you most probably can get into a better school. ive been there several times - theres nothing particularly unique or special about it.

See my earlier post above. My son applied to BC this year and, so far, has been accepted there as well as Notre Dame and Michigan - and has a number of other good schools pending regular decision. He visited BC and liked it a lot.

PS - an addendum. My son's private college counsellor, one of the best in our area, says that BC is rapidly rising, in part because of being next to Boston, and that it should prove as difficult as Notre Dame to get into this year for kids in our local schools. She likes it a lot and counselled my son that, if he preferred it, he would not be making a mistake to go there instead of some of the more prestigious schools on his list.

what's up with people getting rejected/deferred from Cornell ED and then getting likely letters from UVa? I would have thought the admissions for those schools would be very similar.

depends - most oos people who can get into 1 can get into the other. instaters who can get into uva are not neccessarily at the same admissions level. and also - remember - its always a crap shoot with either school.

does uva have regional reps?? Im trying to contact a dean at uva who would be able to check if my extras were recieved and are in my file.
