I was just curious to see where everyone else is applying. Also, could everyone rank each of the colleges on their list in the order of which ones they want to attend the most.

Notre Dame (accepted)
1a. Yale (RD 1a because it would be much cheaper than ND)

Vanderbilt (RD but I have no intention of going even if I get in)

Saint Louis U (accepted, was my safety)

I’ll post my colleges, but I can’t rank them, honestly. Notre Dame is far and away my number one, and all of the others fall somewhere under it. It will probably come down to scholarships, etc. I’ll list them in an approximate order.

Notre Dame (accepted ea)

Georgetown (accepted ea)

UChicago

Princeton

Harvard

UPenn

Boston University (safety)

Fordham (safety; accepted ea)

Stevens Institute of Technology (safety)

I can’t really rank them… I suppose Notre Dame would be first but here’s an approximation. Like above it will probably come down to cost/scholarships.

Notre Dame (accepted)

Yale

Princeton

Duke

UT Austin (accepted)

Washington University in St.Louis

Vanderbilt

Also my parents forced me to apply to Baylor as a second backup that would offer me a full-ride. I have no intention of going there…

Notre Dame (accepted EA), Princeton, Duke, Yale, Stanford, Penn, Georgetown, JHU, Brown, Columbia, Swarthmore. The only reason I would attend Notre Dame, however, would be if I hear some heartbreaking news in March. Though I was nominated by my school for the Hersburgh-Yusko scholarship, need-based financial aid from other schools should be fine for me.

Edit: And the schools to which I applied are in order of preference following Notre Dame. It would fall somewhere around JHU.

Princeton

Notre Dame (accepted EA)

Hillsdale (waiting on EA decision)

Then all in the same area of preference are Harvard(just want to see if get in), Dartmouth(again, just to see if I get in, I think it is a little too “granola” for me), Catholic University(accepted EA), ending up with Carroll College(accepted, it’s a super safety, I will have 18 credits that I have taken there by the end of this year)

If accepted at Princeton, I am definitely there.

It is always interesting to view where and why students go to different places…I always say visit a school before you enroll…it is amazing how different people fit different schools better…I was accepted to MIT but chose ND because I knew that MIT just wasn’t my type of school like ND was and I don’t regret the decision at all…but if I never visited MIT I would have probably been very tempted to go and would probably regret it…so my advice to all of you is to VISIT!!!

^your backup college is number 2 :P? jk, jk

@hawkswim-- I agree completely. When my dad was applying to schools, he visited, and that was enough to dissuade him from even applying to MIT. He was accepted to Princeton and Cornell and finally wound up at Cornell because he felt Princeton was a little too close to home, and that the people there were…not as fun-loving as the party school of the ivies I guess.

Yes. At the moment, I’m fully prepared to turn down Princeton, Harvard, Penn, and UChicago for ND. I applied to the others to compare financial aid packages, and in case I have a change of heart… but right now I’m pretty much sold.

cjester: Where are you from? We have applied to several of the same schools including UT.
Parents also insisted I apply to Baylor for the scholarships and no app fee! Just can’t go to Waco…

I got into ND EA, and the other schools I applied to (not in order of preference) were Duke (deferred ED), Michigan (deferred EA), UNC (I hear in a week), Cornell, Penn, Tufts, Georgetown, Emory, Wash U, Boston College, Northwestern and Vanderbilt.

My first choice is Duke. My last choices (as in I would NEVER consider going there over ND) are Tufts, Emory, Boston College, and Wash U.
