Just a question here as I try to narrow down the list. Where else is everyone else applying (or where did you when you did)? I suppose you should list your (prospective) major, and just for fun add decisions if you're already done with the process. THANKS!

And I suppose I'll go first, I'm looking at, in this order so far:
UChicago (of course)
Harvard
Dartmouth
Georgetown
Rice
UVA
UNC

Poli Sci and possibly double major in Econ

I'm heading to UChicago this coming September! :)

UChicago RD (accepted)
Harvard EA (deferred, then rejected)

Pitt [as safety] ...accepted

linguistics major, minor in near eastern civ/lang...mostly arabic!

Yeah...I narrowed my list down a lot before applying: one reach, one fit, one safety. Even those three apps took me enough time.

I will be attending Chicago in the fall. I applied to:

UChicago (accepted)
Lawrence University (accepted)
St. Olaf College (accepted)

1 reach/match, 2 safeties - but all I wanted to do was go to Chicago

I hope to major in mathematics or classics (I have an affinity for Greek. . .).

Chicago this September

I applied, in order of preference, to:

Deep Springs (rejected)
U Chicago (accepted EA)
=UC Berkeley School of Chemistry (accepted OOS)
Swarthmore (counselor forgot half of my app, missed deadline)
=Reed (accepted w/$)
Washington and Lee (accepted)
UNC Chapel Hill (accepted EA OOS w/$)
U Florida (accepted OOS w/$)
Tulane (accepted w/$)

Philosophy and Chemistry or Economics double was my intention when applying, now it's Phil/Econ. Deep Springs was 1st because its only two years and free in addition to awesome, so I could go to Berkeley or Chicago afterwards.

P.S. Beware OOS Berkeley applicants, their financial aid is appalling.

Congrats on even applying to Deep Springs - you are pretty hardcore academically and will have a blast at Chicago this fall.

Urg you couldn't pay me to go to Deep Springs, but different strokes for different folks I guess. Has everyone here been satisfied by their Fin. Aid from UChicago?

I applied as a transfer student from Bard College, which (as a "Place to Think") I feel is fairly similar in its intellectualism/academics.

I applied ED to University of Pennsylvania (CAS) and EA to Chicago (withdrew everywhere else). Got into both. Obviously going to Penn. Prospective Econ/Math double-major.

Doesn't Penn ED state that you can not apply to other early application programs?

Nevermind:

"A student may apply Early Decision to only one institution. Accordingly, if an applicant for Early Decision to the University of Pennsylvania also applies for Early Decision to another school, the Early Decision application to the University of Pennsylvania will be withdrawn. Further, if any Regular Decision applicant to the University of Pennsylvania is accepted Early Decision under a College Board approved Early Decision plan by any other school, the application to the University of Pennsylvania will be withdrawn."

Gtown accepted EA and Chicago accepted EA... obviously heading to the greatest economics school in the universe, since that is what ill be studying... along with some Public Policy with specialiyation in Education...

That's almost my exact plan felipecocco.

Thanks for the link idad. I wonder if the public, or prospective applicants, are invited?

Even if it is not open to the public, eager students can often get themselves invited to such events. One might offer to help in some way with registration, envelope stuffing, etc. At Chicago almost anything is possible if a student is somewhat aggressive (in the most positive sense) in seeking out opportunity. Few things come to those who wait at the University.
