I'm just wondering wat schools u guys turned down to go to emory,

also i'm pretty much done w/ my college visits, i was hoping to just get that feeeling of wow i'm definately coming here. but i'm still so confused, cause i liked all the schools i visited... so wat helped u guys decide..

im still deciding: Woodruff Scholars for Emory, or attend MIT with $35k student loans per year....
(my previous posts explain my dilemma) but yea, i'm torn =(

Son was torn between Renaissance Scholarship (full tuition) to Univ of Rochester and Emory Scholar (at 2/3 tuition). He has waffled between the two for weeks, now. Last night he made the decision to go to Emory. Even though we'll have to pay the 1/3 tuition, it's offset by the fact that he won't be flying to Rochester, shipping stuff to Rochester, we won't be flying to Rochester, and he'll get about $3900 per year from the Georgia Hope Scholarship and Tuition Equalization Grant. He's still bummed about not going to UR, though. I think he wants to attend both schools.

I chose GW w/ a half-tuition scholarship over Emory w/ nothing. i want to study polysci/IR so there was really no contest between DC and Atlanta. Still, it was really hard to choose b/c i loved emory and had a strong gut feeling when I visited, and its more "prestigious," but ultimately I feel like GW is the right place for me.

DS has been torn between Emory (Callaway) and UPenn (Vegelos Scholars Program which will give him research/stipend opportunities). I think he is chosing Emory. He is chosing Emory over Rice (no aid), Amherst(early write with good aid), Cornell, UPenn with the invitation to the scholars program, UGA (Hope + Charter scholarship + music scholarship) and Wake Forest with good merit scholarship. DD goes to GaTech which is only 10 min. away from Emory. I am so happy with my S's choice!
