Where else did you apply to?

Now that applying season is over (I officially completely finished all applications as of 5 hours ago) and all that's left is waiting for admission/rejection (yikes), I thought this would be an appropriate time-frame for this thread. So where did you all apply to?

I went for 5 universities, which might be a bit minimal, but I figured unless it's a top college with generous financial aid I won't be traveling to attend it (I'm not a US student.) So I applied to:

Local college (my safety)
Harvard
MIT
Cornell
McGill (accepted, most likely not going)

How about you guys?

In the UK (though probably not going there after Oxford’s rejection):

Oxford (rejected after interview. ouch)
Edinburgh (in)
Warwick (in)
King’s College London (in)
London School of Economics (pending)

All US schools are pending:

Yale SCEA (deferred)
Harvard
have 9 more schools but the rest are secret :)

If I get rejected from all my top schools in the US then I’m going back to my country of origin.

I am a french student and I applied:

Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Columbia
Stanford
NYU & NYUAD
W&L
and Mcgill

Good Luck everyone !

S applied to:
Harvard
Yale
Penn (sibling hook)
Cornell
Brown (PLME)
Boston College
Wash U St Louis
Northwestern
Duke
Notre Dame
Johns Hopkins
Rice
Emory
Vanderbilt
State School (Safetly, auto admit based on class rank)

Harvard
Princeton
Yale
Columbia
Dartmouth
Duke
Northwestern
Vanderbilt
Washington U in St. Louis
Pomona
Boston College
U of Waterloo
McGill

I’d be ecstatic to get into any of the first 10 schools I listed…

Applied to:
Harvard
Berkeley (CoC)
Cornell (CoE)
Columbia (SEAS)
Penn (SEAS)
WashU
Northwestern (CoE)
UChicago (CAS)
Duke (CoE)
RPI
Georgia Tech
UConn
UCLA
UCSD
Johns Hopkins
Carnegie Mellon (CIT)

Interesting - no Georgetowns yet. I think of Georgetown as the ideal Harvard back-up: same size, similar setting and local ambience, both have highly-developed political pipelines, and both are two miles from the center of a major Eastern city.

(Political Science & Government)

Harvard
Princeton
Stanford
Brown
Columbia
Cornell
Tufts
Chicago
Colgate

Harvard
Princeton
Penn (Wharton)
Dartmouth
Duke (Arts and Sciences)
Vanderbilt (Arts and Sciences)
Cornell (AEM)
Notre Dame (Mendoza)
Stanford
Wash U St. Louis (Olin and Arts and Sciences)
Boston College (Carroll)
Wake Forest
UMiami
Marquette

In the final 2 days of the application season I ended up adding about 5 more schools than I originally intended…but anyway:

Brown
Duke (likely letter)
Yale
Amherst
Pomona
Stanford
Dartmouth
William & Mary (likely letter)
Vanderbilt (likely letter)

And just a couple of others that are less important.

This is going to sound silly.
Harvard
Yale (accepted SCEA)
Princeton
Stanford
March 30th will NEVER come.

D applied to
Harvard
Princeton
Yale- deferred
Emory - admitted
UNC chapel Hill admitted Honors
UVA
W&L - admitted
Duke
GA Tech- admitted presidential scholar
UGA - admitted Ramsey scholar

@morningglory111

Heh, what a coincidence. I’m in the exact same situation ^_^

Harvard
Yale (accepted SCEA)
Princeton
Stanford

I applied to:

Yale
Harvard
Princeton
Vanderbilt
Georgetown
American University
U Penn
Brown
Tufts
Boston University (as a Trustee’s Scholar)
State School (Auto-Admit because of ranking, but also applied to the honors)

Why the lack of love for MIT? :D

MIT, Caltech, Harvard, Duke, UGA Ramsey, UChicago (in EA) etc

S applied to Caltech, Harvard, UChicago, Columbia, Princeton, Yale, and a few others for combined. He is regretting for not having applied to Duke.

I applied to:

Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Columbia
Brown
Dartmouth
Cornell
UPenn
UCLA
Miami U.

Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Stanford
Penn - Wharton

Just goes to show that it’s gotten way too easy to apply to these colleges; no wonder these schools have a ****load of applications. Applying to every Ivy - and then UCLA and Miami U? Does that make sense? And for some of you guys how could you have visited all 11 schools? Adding 5 schools to your list right before the deadline? Not sure how that’s even possible unless your high school supports that. Can’t imagine that after a careful search you wouldn’t have a list of 4-5 schools. HYPS as a complete list actually make some sense. Kind of feel sorry for the admissions officers trying to wade through all these apps.
