Where else have you gotten in?

I've been accepted to UCLA and Santa Clara. I'm waiting on Berkeley and USC among others. USC would be better for me in terms of OOS/$$. IDK right now...

Socalpatty ~ that's an impressive list of acceptances for your son! What are his stats?

With Stanford SCEA as an acceptance, is it still possible that he would go to USC? Is this a scholarship situation?

reasonabledad:
i've been all over him for not applying at additional "match" schools that he was going to apply to. I think he burned out early on the application process. But thanks and I will pass it on.
Stanford is the only "Reach" school he got into and to get in EA was nice, but he has legacy... his dad, 2 uncles and grandfather ar alumni. I hope to think he got in on his own merit though. He has great stats:
1560 + 720 SAT, 4.21 GPA, he's in an IB school, risky but I thought excellent essays.
He's never really been into USC, especially now he has a cousin that may go there. Duke and Princeton are definite reaches and he hasn't gotten anything from them (likely letters.) At this point, his 1st shoice is UCB or Stanford, then UCLA. We'll see. It will be an exciting April.

Son was accepted at USC Engineering, Sanata Clara Honors College Engineering (provost scholar), likely AzSU Barrett Honors College (NMF full ride). Still waiting on his other 4 schools & to learn about any USC merit aid.

HImom ~ I wish Viterbi published thier results separately, but as far as I know, they don't...but all of the CC applicants look incredibly strong.

UC Davis
UCSD

Accepted to: USC and NYU
Waiting on: Northwestern, Boston U, and Emory

Isn't it weird how many people applied to both USC and NYU?

comparanza1212, your picking USC over NYU Stern and w/o hearing from others?

accepted: MIT, UT, UIUC, USC, carnegie mellon

not really waiting for: cornell , Upenn

going to MIT!!! but usc was my 2nd choice

I'm very impressed. Kids who would have never thought of USC just a few years are now applying and considering going. I'm glad my son is already in..

USC has been very successful in attracting a lot of talented, qualified students & professors, not to mention a great football team. :) My friend says she's glad her son graduated from USC last year--she's not sure he'd get in now with such competition! (He's in his 1st year of med school now & loved his time at USC.)
USC has really had a rise in its reputation over the past few years--several of our schools' top students have matriculated there over a lot of other excellent options. My son is seriously considering USC--will be interesting to see what other schools he ends up comparing it with.

Gotten into OU and Johnson and Wales. I got rejected from UT austin which was a surprise for me and I'm waiting for NYU and Cornell right now...

wooo! got into Northwestern today.... If they offer me better finaid than USC, I might end up there. :( EVen though I'd rather go to SC!!

I got into SMU, USC, and SUNY Purchase for Theatre- as well as Sarah Lawrence and Drew. I'm still waiting on Columbia and Princeton coughriiiightcough. USC and Sarah Lawrence are my top choices, but if I don't get Trustee for USC, then I'll go to SMU because they've offered me full tuition, room and board.

Congratulations to everyone on great acceptances and tough decisions to make! Lot's of decisions coming out over the next 3 days.... good luck to everyone!!
