Where else should I look?

Hi, I am a caucasian Female and am planning to major in communications or public relations
Right now, I'm looking at USC, UC Berkeley, USD (San Diego), Syracuse, and Pepperdine (I live in Washington)

Here are some stats:

GPA: 3.94
Weighted GPA: 4.25-4.35
SAT: 2020
ACT: Taking in October (hoping to get at least a 30, but who knows for sure)

6 APs after Senior Year

Awards: 5th in Area, 7th in State, and Top 40 in the nation at DECA (Communications event)
Honor Society President
Most Inspirational Soccer Player freshman and junior year
6th place National German Video Contest

I don't know my exact class rank but its definitely top 10% at either 10th-20th ranked

Extra Curriculars: Honor Society President, High School Soccer for 4 years, captain for 2 of those years, Advertising and Promotion Coordinator for ASB, over 200 hours of Community Service, job as both a soccer referee and a soccer camp coach, made it to the DECA international competition- placing in the Top 40, that's just a few things about me.

Where else should I consider applying to? Thanks for your help!

Are your parents willing to pay the OOS rates for the UCs? Do you have a safety you can definitely afford, are happy to attend, and are assured of being selected?

@"Erin’s Dad"‌ Yes, the University of Washington is my safety that I would be happy to attend and can afford. My family has run NPC on all colleges and we are able to afford them. Thank you for your input!

What kind of major and school environment are you looking for? Are there any particular features that appeal to you? (For example, lots of school spirit, small class sizes, a strong environmental consciousness, an excellent German department, between 5-10 thousands undergraduates, etc.)

So for major I am looking for Communication or Public Relations… As for school environment I really want there to be sports teams that I could cheer on and some awesome clubs to join! Sorry that is kind of vague, but any suggestions help @warriordaughter‌

You may want to look into the School of Communication at Northwestern as well. And I’m guessing you will apply to the Newhouse School at Syracuse.

If you can get your SAT to the 2200 Level you will become very competitive for top universities. A 30 ACT is about the same as your current SAT score. A 32 would open more doors.

Out of curiosity, how much did the UCs say that you would have to pay?

@mom2collegekids‌ My parents did not tell me how much (they did the NPC by themselves, and have always kept finances under wraps so that my brother and I don’t have to worry or take finances into the equation when applying) so I’m sorry but I’m not sure what the result was!

@batman4321 Maybe you should ask your parents if affording these schools involves taking out large loans…If that’s the case -not really affordable. It’s understandable that some parents wanna protect their kids from any financial woes, but since you’re now becoming an adult, these type of things will affect you soon, specially since it’s your education that’s concerned.

I really think that it’s up to families to determine how much they can afford, not anonymous commenters on websites.

@woogzmama‌ Haha thank you… I didn’t mean for this thread to be a discussion over finances. That’s between myself and my family!

@batman4321 Well I mentioned it because there’s threads were people are surprised in April at what they actually have to pay. Do whatever you want lol, just make sure you have your facts straight. Just trying to help but whatever, it’s your money. :)
