Wow, I'd certainly feel good about myself if I saw my school in your "the rest" list. If you're going to stoop to ranking your classmates based on your perception of the school they are attending, do your research. Berklee and Cooper Union, both of which landed on your "the rest" list, are super competitve. Cooper Union has an 11% acceptance rate.

Okay...you posted...why exactly?

hmm...interesting. In contrast...my school stats:
Average student is strictly middle class with 40%+ minorities.

OUT OF A CLASS OF 400:

In-state (Alaska Anch), military, or no college: 250+/400

In no particular order:

Why?

What's with the question marks?

Do you not understand how good some of "the rest" of the schools are?

Why wouldn't Wharton be included?

WHY?

I love how no one got into Harvard from your school.

At my school no one is going anywhere good. The only decent school anyone will be attending is Creighton. Our school's val got about 200k in scholarships lol.

^I dunno if I would consider creighton decent =/

for some reason everybody in hawaii wants to go to creighton.
doesn't really make sense because it's a religious school in the middle of nowhere, but I think its because nobody in hawaii knows anything about colleges so they just end up applying where everyone else applies (creighton, oregon state, etc)

anyway, to answer the OP, the top colleges that people are going to in my school (in order) are
1. community college
2. community college #2
3. *ty state school
4. an even *tier private school here if they somehow get rejected from above (hawaii pacific university)

We have one student going to Stanford (this is the second straight year we got a kid into Stanford. No one has ever gone to an Ivy.) The valedictorian is going to UVA (in state). A bunch of kids will go to James Madison University, George Mason University or the University of Mary Washington. We also have lots of kids going to the community colleges.

Some are (most stay in Ohio, Kentucky or Indiana)

Ohio University
Ohio State
University of Cincinnati
Miami University
NKU
Wright State

Brag thread ftw

We've got 1 at Columbia, 1 at Tufts, and probably a few more at 'rest of the best' schools. Our school, though, always seems to send at least 3-4 students to Wheaton and American every year, I can't really figure it out.

i ditto theoneo

Forgive me for being slightly rude, but why would anyone care about this?

Why is Brandeis in the "top" but Michigan isn't if you're going to US News?

6 ppl going to arizona?? wow, i did not realize it was that popular.

I third theoneo. Why exactly would anyone care about the college admission distribution at your high school? Especially if the results are not incredible or shocking for a students from a "white, rich, college educated, outstanding public school."

And is Berkelee = UC Berkeley? Why is it with "the rest" -_- if your categories are according to US News?

Brown 1
Columbia 1
Cornell 2
Princeton 1

Duke 1
Georgetown 1
NYU 6

This is from a NYC suburb (I can walk to Queens in 10 minutes) with a class of about 360-something kids. We normally do better.. but this is us! A lot more kids than normal got out of the SUNY system though.

Berkelee could also mean Berklee, which is a music school. Either way, though, it's a very competitive school.

My school has 650+ kids.
Only one got into an ivy this year (Dartmouth)
Last year we had one get into Yale.
