Where for a BFA in Acting?

I decided a while back that I want to get a BFA in Acting at a college that is known for exactly that, but after searching for so long, I still feel completely lost as to where I should apply. My GPA is not good, about a 2.4, but I've been diagnosed with learning disabilities. However, my ACT score was a 31, and my PSAT was a 2075. Basically, I'm looking for a college that can overlook my GPA, and admit me on my audition and my standardized test scores.

What would you recommend as top theatre schools that would fit that bill? Also, are there colleges I could use as safeties if for some reason I fail at all my auditions?

Currently, my list (that I'm considering) consists of the following: (Feel free to tell me if these are good choices)
Juilliard
Syracuse
Mulenburg
SMU
NYU
NC School of the Arts
Rhodes College
Ithaca
DePaul
Bennington
Boston U
Carnegie Mellon
Marymount Manhattan
Hartwick
Emerson
Wagner

Head over to the Musical Theater forum. Not only are those folks die-hard MTers, they know Acting, too. Many of the schools on your list are excellent and all are at least good, but you'll get more details over there. Remember for a BFA program you'll need to audition so take a look at the rules and requirements for those, and the dates, etc. It is very important to have all the info figured out.
Break a leg..................

What about SUNY Purchase? It's tough to get in, but I'm pretty sure admission is based on your audition, not your grades.

Your list is very similar to my daughter's alot of the same. SUNY Purchase too. Be careful with DePaul. They cut half the class after Freshman year.

It will be hard for you to get into a good school with that gpa, but some great schools for theater are Kenyon College, Knox College, Illinois Wesleyan University, Beloit College, and all the ones you listed. It will take some hard convincing from you to get into any school with the 2.4 gpa, but good luck.

Millikin, Webster, Baldwin-Wallace, Florida State, Catawba

University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theatre BFA program takes 20 students/ year by audition. Academics need to be good enough for admission to U of MN College of Liberal Arts (School of Biological Sciences and Carlson Business school are the really competitive schools at the U), so I think your test scores would overcome the lower GPA. Minneapolis is second only to New York in theatre seats per capita.
