Where has every one gone?

It’s disappointing to see that no one is using this forum anymore. When I joined several years ago, this was the go to website that I used when my son was at the academy. I learned many things and even after he graduated it was fun to read about what the new lieutenants were doing.

Now he is a first lieutenant, he will be going on his first deployment to Oman, flying a c-17,based out of charleston. Going thru flight training and survival schools were all great experiences.

I know there are other forums but I appreciated the simplicity and good information that was presented here. Hopefully, this can be resurrected for the new candidates and even those that have graduated.

What is happening in your world of the Air Force?

I will be going to Charlestown this week to see him him before he leaves for his deployment.

I think most moved onto serviceacademyforums.com. There are still some who come around here from time to time though.

Congrats to your son, you must be proud! Best of luck to him on his deployment!

I believe most moved to that other forum site about 2+ yrs ago since it is far better moderated then here. Around that time there was a small group of individuals (perhaps 3-4 people) who acted like the 3 stooges …CONSTANTLY bashing each other on a daily basis and squabbling over whose opinions were more valid. Whatever one would say, some of the others would fly off the handle over scolding each other saying they didn’t know what they were talking about. Frankly, making themselves look like total fools to those of us who actually tried to participate to offer helpful/accurate and candid advice about the service academies.

I reported them on SEVERAL occasions telling the mods that if they don’t get the situation under control…everyone would leave this site and never return…soooo you can see the result.

Yeah, most moved forums.

In other news, being a pilot is a hoot!

Congrats to you Ramius…S is loving it too.

Until today, I hadn’t logged into these forums since I graduated in 2011. I got a PM yesterday asking about something I had once posted, and curiosity got the better of me.

Marine, how was your son’s deployment? I’m a 1Lt co-pilot at Charleston now too, so I probably know him. I’m guessing he’s in the 14th? PM me if you like.
