I don’t intend to pursue photojournalism as a major but photography, photojournalism especially, has always been a passion of mine. I want to major in history and/or sociology. I really want to minor in photojournalism but I think only Baruch allows that. While I have yet to take the SAT, I want to know my options. I would most likely end up at CUNY because I intend to attend medical school. If I am lucky maybe I will be in one of their Macaulay programs.
I don’t know anyone who is studying photography or photojournalism at CUNY. Please help me!
@privacypolicy I know that Baruch has a journalism major and CCNY has an excellent Journalism minor run by Prof. Linda Villarosa (mca233.■■■■■■■■■■■■■).
None of the CUNY schools carry photography or photojournalism.
Some SUNY schools do carry photography. You could do an associates CUNY in Journalism then do a double major in history and journalism or sociology and journalism. You could also look into the CUNY BA program where you would design your own major but take regular CUNY classes. You need a decent GPA and a major that doesn’t exist but can be “made” from the classes at all CUNY schools and you can’t really do it as an ad hoc business major at Baruch.
Here are the photography schools:
