Where is Bio NOT impacted?

Out of these schools:
SB
I
LA
SD
Davis

bio is pretty impacted at all schools. Why do you want to major in bio? Med school?

as a freshman, everyone told me to go bio for med school… now I hear going the other path is better… got scrwwwed

I would suggest not going Bio. Everyone and their mothers are bio majors these days it seems for med school. It isn’t worth it (unless you really enjoy a broad spectrum of biology). Unless it’s too late, find a major that you enjoy doing or one that is more specific (ie molecular bio)

Any major will do for med school,so go ahead and try for a different major. Only advantage bio over some majors is that the prereq classes are part of the major,so they aren’t extra classes. Except perhaps doing premed w/ engineering is supposed to be difficult, sicne med schools don’t really care about the difficult of engineering compared to some other majors.

Well I already applied… And I also took all the classes I need for lower divsion biology. I do want to consider specializing into molecular bio. Even though I hate the reading, I still find it interesting. So I just procrastinate my studying but once I get going, I get a good desire to learn. I really liked my molecular biology class, but I think Bio labs are so boring. I find ochem labs more fun…

what is your gpa? did you tap or tag?

I tagged… 3.67

You don’t have to major in bio to get into med school. My friend did a smarter route and majored in Sociology. Because of the easy classes he graduated with a high GPA (3.92) while also having the pre-requisite courses done for Medical School. And he scored a 31 on his MCAT.

He was also a frat boy – he was heavily drunk in the weekend and always banged girls everyday. He also took his Finals drunk and ace’d them all!

He’s one of those guys who’s ridiculously smart and have a great social life.

Well… I know that route is always there. Its just I did not take sociology 2 - 3000 or whatever amount is required to transfer as that major… I compelted the igetc and TAg for biology majors. As far as all the other classes, I think i only took the 101 classes. After wards, I found out i hated most those Ge classes and felt like they were only a hindrance in getting done… Maybe because I am thinking in the perspective of a bio major… its ingrained in me!
