Apparently, I qualify for the Blue & Gold Opportunity Plan - what exactly does that do and where does it show up? I read that it totals my grants/scholarships, and pays for any costs that that doesn't cover - so why am I signing up for loans lol? Thanks.

I’m pretty sure Blue & Gold only covers tuition. Which means if your grants/scholarships don’t cover housing costs, you’ll have to take out loans.

kwwboarder is exactly right. Blue & Gold covers any part of your tuition that isn’t covered by grants and scholarships, but it does nothing to soften the cost of housing or textbooks or any other expenses. That is why you have to take out loans even if you qualify for all of your tuition to be covered by UCLA through blue & gold.
