Frankly Chillin I'm really nervous. To see people rejected with better scores than my daughter is frightful. I am working overnight tonight so I can get the mail first thing in the morning who needs sleep anyway? Pray for both of us that our anxiety doesn't get the best of us and thanks

KR- I was doubtful for my admission EA with only a 32 ACT but those admissions people to quote the movie Rudy are "A bunch of squirrly people." Good luck to you, everyone who hasn't received their letters yet, and to all those deferred!

No you don't, you don't come here and misquote Rudy! Admissions is "a funny bunch of squirrels." Kids these days, lol, just kidding. I have seen Rudy way too many times though!

hey, Irish:
What's the lowest ACT that you know of that's been accepted at ND? I know that once people start attending they leave those things behind, but just wondering if you know of anyone who got in with low ACTs.

On one of my tours I met two guys that had pretty low ACTs. One was a legacy and one was not.
Legacy: 25
Non-legacy: 28

The non-legacy was adamant that his essay and community service got him in.

My friend got into Emory, which is one above ND on US News, with a 29 ACT, no legacy. Her recs and essays were amazing, which goes to prove that those do play a big role.

And KR, by this time tomorrow we should have our letters. Just keep praying :-)

i don't even like thinking about going down to the mailbox tomorrow.

Hey, thanks you guys. My daughter has a 26 ACT, no legacy, but outstanding and unique ECs and essay, along with a strong GPA, so I am praying hard. Que sera, sera.

Hoping to get my letter tomorrow..I'm pretty nervous! But like the last poster said, whatever will be..will be..

yeah... I can't decide whether I'm going to go out and do something to get my mind off it tomorrow morning, or just to sleep until noon (when the mail comes)

I will never forget the walk to the mailbox knowing that letter was most likely there, and unfortunately not seeing any big envelopes. I hope that doesn't happen for you guys. Know my thoughts are with you.

Don't worry about the lowest ACTs I have heard (they are similar to the ones people have mentioned) because at this point it doesn't matter and it is so hard to tell. If I was applying as a transfer NOW I doubt I would get in, honestly. Same with a lot in my class. However, ND looks at so many different things, that it just depends.

TAKE SOLICE IN THIS...IF THERE EVER WAS A SCHOOL THAT SAID TO HECK WITH US NEWS AND LET IN A KID WITH A 24 BUT GREAT ESSAYS AND SERVICE, IT WOULD BE ND.

Irish I may need every bit of your psychology training today waiting for the mail will be tough. Thank for all your support these many months though.

I am waiting for my grades this semester today, which while very different and less major, is waiting nonetheless. I will try to hang around the boards to offer encouragement. You all have done all you can do, you know? What will be will be, and if it isn't good, then I will help you with the next step should you choose it.

No problem with the support, good luck today :)

i have to go take one exam and hopefully when i get back there will be a big envelope waiting for me in the mailbox.

Good luck to both of you......
