Where is everyone dorming?

It's first come first serve, so if you have a preference, I'd get it in ASAP

Yea, I wanna wait till this Saturday so that I can see all of the dorms before I choose which one I want to live in.

Ok, but be aware that after the open house on saturday, the housing office is going to be FLOODED with surges of housing applications from students who have just seen the dorms, so even though i haven't seen them yet, i sent my app in earlier this week, just to avoid the rush that is sure to come starting next week.

I just enrolled at Ernest Mario, but I didn't see anything about housing. Will I be getting that stuff later, or are all Pharm kids in one place?

Pharm kids can live anywhere that the people in their affiliated college live... they aren't grouped together. I think that you fill out a housing application that's the same as everyone else's. (of course, I have absolutely no idea b/c im not a pharm student, so dont take my word for it haha. that would just make logical sense, though)

once again, thanx mtt.

It takes about a day for your deposit to register in the system. After a day or so, you will be able to access the housing app and a bunch of other stuff through the Enrollment Pathway. :]

How easy is a bike commute to Busch from College Ave? Would it be a better alternative to the bus?

Use the bus system. Learn it and love it. We have one of the best in nation, something to have pride in, finally!

My advice to all of you: live on college ave! I lived in Metzger freshmen year and it was cool, but the social scene was all on CA.

Just as an aside: I went in knowing a fair amount of people, but not rooming with anyone I know. Best decision I made, I'm still living with my freshmen roommate and I visited him last summer. Basically it moved me out of my comfort zone and forced me to interact with people. Not everyone was as lucky as me, but it’s a right of passing to get a ****ty roommate at least once.

kevinj, i picked stonier, clothier, and campbell on my housing app....did i make good choices?

Exactly what I was thinnking. As long as its about a mile I could prob handle it; otherwise, I'll end up taking the bus.

Stonier, Clothier are great. They are right in the middle of CA and close to the dining hall which you will depend on. The CA dining hall is probably the worst of the lot though. At least you get cute girls. :) I never liked the river dorms(Campbell, Hardenbergh, Freling). Make sure to bring flip flops, shared bathrooms are ... ugh. I'll never miss them!

Regarding the bikes, I've never seen anyone do it between CA Busch/Livingston. There is a dedicated path next to 18, so it possible, but generally people put their bikes on the front of the bus and ride the bus between campuses. Its just much quicker now that the construction on 18 is done. People usually only ride their bikes around Busch, from what I’ve seen (but I’m an engineer so, I spend my days on Busch, CA/Douglass could be different). Make sure you put your lock on correctly; I've seen a lot of bikes stolen.

Honestly, I don’t see a need for a bike. It shouldn’t take you more then 20 minutes to get to any of your classes, even the ones that are on a different campus. At least if you’re living on campus.

i don't really care about the girls because I am one, and I'm straight, but thanks for the input.

Cute guys then? :p

that's better, thank you :] ahhhh! im so excited, i want school to start tomorrow.

Yea-- I would suggest Tinsley or Mettler over the River dorms (campbell). But that's just my opinion.

Some people bike or walk between the campuses when the weather is very nice. But that's rare... the buses are very quick between CA/Busch/Livingston. However, a bunch of people bike between CA and Cook/Douglass b/c traffic can be horrible between these campuses during rush hour.

Mettler is a special interest dorm, and tinsley just looked bad.

I'm pretty sure Mettler isn't special Interest--- are you sure? I know Brett is and they look the same, it's in the same quad... did you confuse the two?

No, Mettler isn't special interest, but it has a special interest floor that pretty much consumes the building. Just what i heard.

Just sent in housing application. Will be staying in Barr Hall, only for Engineers, sorry. :)
