I’m not trying to sound mean, but be happy with what you got. There are some people at are in need of scholarships, that have outstanding grades, and still don’t get one.

Well, a 1490 is really good, I got the Provost with only 1440/2150. They look at other things, such as difficulty of curriculum (AP, DE, IB?) I’ve taken 7 AP (with 5s on the one’s I’ve taken). That isn’t too exceptional at most public schools that offer dozens of different AP classes, but at my school, that’s almost the maximum (there’s only 9 AP offered). I’m also getting 20 college credits through DE (I’m not really sure if that is a lot). Is 4.7 your UCF GPA or your school’s GPA? Some schools inflate GPA…

I’m not sure why I got the scholarship over people with higher scores (like you), but I’ve heard that colleges prefer smaller college prep/private schools (like the school I attend). I don’t know if thats true.

Hi sd1799:

I have taken 8 AP classes and I got all 5’s except for some 4’s. I am currently taking 6 AP. If I use all my credits at UCF, I can finish mu BS degree in Honor school in 2 years. I am talking to UCF admissions office and asking them to review my application. I hope I get one soon. Good luck to you.

I will be a HS val next year. My UW GPA is 4.0 and weighted GPA is 4.0. I have applied to 15 schools including Harvard,Yale, Emory, Rice etc. Let us see what happens.

Good luck with the Ivy League applications :)
