My friends been bragging about his admission to Notre Dame
may I know what kind of college it is? I know its a great school, but why?

Where is Notre Dame? ... in the middle of nowhere.

don't be rude! Notre Dame is in South Bend, Indiana. About a 45 minute drive from Chicago.

45 minutes from Chicago? Maybe if you're going 150 on an empty road. The middle of nowhere pretty much covers it.

South Bend is about 95 miles from Chicago, so driving time would be closer to 1 hour 45 minutes.

That is without any traffic of course!

It is arguably one of the most prestigious Catholic research universities in the United States. It was founded in 1842, and offers what one might imagine to be the ideal college experience. There's a great balance struck between a quality liberal arts education, hardcore partying, a thriving athletic culture, and an active religious life (if one is looking for one). It has an exceptional alumni network too, due to being universally known throughout the Catholic community.

Notre Dame - The school that every catholic football player wants to go to, thus it has a perpetually successful football program because of the huge recruiting base. Seeing ND suffer a heartbreaking loss is very enjoyable, can be the highlight of my weekend.

ah thanks
and I do think I know where the school is :)
