I'm from Brazil, I would like to study at a university abroad, but I'm not sure what is the best place to study: USA, UK, Australia or Canada. Where is the better place to go? Could you help me make this decision?

Thanks!

There’s no one best choice. It all depends. What are your financial resources? The preferred format of your education (American-style general education vs European-style focused-entirely-on-your-major)? Which country do you want to settle down in? What career would you like to pursue? In which countries would universities accept your Bazilian high school credentials for admission? Would you be willing to pursue another high school-level credential (e.g. A-levels, IB, AP exams) prior to college admissions in order to qualify for admission to universities that don’t accept Brazilian credentials such as the Certificado de Ensino Medio, Vestibular, ENEM, PAS, etc?

Do you want to attend a “prestigious” university, or do you just want a college degree? What’s your preferred college start date? How flexible are you about all of these?

Hi there it would be helpful to know what you would like to study. What is your passion? do you have any extra curriculars that you wish to pursue? Each area you list has different areas to offer…

Hello.
My financial resources are my Family funds, we are saving money since I started this dream of studying in another country, in my highschool freshman year. And I have some scolarship offers from organizations too.

I would like to study Media/Communications, it’s my passion. In Brazil we have 11 years of education, what’s diferente from the european and australian standards.I think USA is somewhat similar to Brazil. I have graduated from HS last year. I really like USA and Australia, they are my first options to settle down, UK and Canada are really nice too though. If needed, yes I would pursue another certificate in another country. I have the Certificado de Conclusão do Ensino Médio and the ENEM.

Don’t need to be a “prestigious” university, I’m looking for a good college degree, at an recognized university. Fall I think is the better start date.

So based on this, what do you think? Which would be the best place for me?

Thanks!

But how high are your family funds? How much money do you have to spend on your education (including living expenses)?

You said that you’d prefer to start in the fall. Is that fall 2015? (It’s way too late to apply to American or UK universities for fall 2014 entry now.)

You also said that you intend to emigrate. It’s easiest to settle down in the country that your college degree is from. Right now, it seems easiest to immigrate to Canada or Australia. In the US and the UK, your employer can only sponsor you for an immigrant visa if they can document that there’s no current American/UK resident who’s qualified to do the job.
