WHERE is the schedule of Fall Courses?

I give up.

How are you guys accessing the fall classes to make sample schedules???

Home page on myBama, middle section “look up classes”, pull down Fall 2013 tab and there you go…Good Luck!

MyBama is confusing to me…

I tried to do “what ifs” and had to resort to “straight ups”

you can also download the alabama app to your phone and look them up that way. Though I find the class look up on the app to be more confusing than the online version. It’s also out of date for some reason.

TXA - were you trying to use Degree Works? I think that is where the “what ifs” are. I don’t understand Degree Works at all. But for the fall schedule you don’t need to use DW, you just need to go to the main myBama page and click on “look up classes” at the top of the middle section. You will get to a drop down menu where you will need to select Fall 2013. Then there will be a list of all the departments, and you can select one and it will list all of the classes. Clicking on the class will show you the sections and times and how many spots remain.

Hope this helps!

TxArchitect, I think we need to ask them to have a class for parents on how to navigate mybama.

I seriously was just on there trying to find my D’s campus ID#. Nowhere to be found. Where the heck is that?

As for the class schedules, wow, that is time consuming. At least it seemed that way to me when I looked last week. You have to pick each area of study in the drop down and subjects and all. I swear, getting a kid into college is a full time job.

TxNewCollegeMom - I thought the same thing about the campus ID! Turns out it is listed on the right when you click on “look up classes”. I’ve seen it pop up on other things also, but I agree that there should be an obvious way to find it and there doesn’t seem to be.

I always loved scheduling when I was in school so I am having fun playing with the schedule. My DH thinks I’m nuts LOL.

THANK YOU LISA! I found it

That was easy AFTER I knew where it find it, lol

I think it’s kinda fun as well…OK I admit it…even in this day and age of technology the easiest thing for us was to write out the basics…certain classes are only at certain days and times…and there are certain prof’s you would prefer (Rate my professor dot com or CC recommendations) so then you just start plugging in what fits where and you can see it…kinda like a month at a glance calendar…remember those? OK I’m dating myself, that is what we used in college back in the 80’S :)

Then you have to watch what fills up…when you are trying to get into classes with only 15 or 18 or 28 spots, etc. the “plan” is a working document. My son has been able to get a great schedule (times and profs) for all 3 semester’s he has registered for :)

It can be a headache figuring it out, but the kids are so tech savvy these days that once THEY figure it out, it is a piece of cake. It sure beats the heck out of the way I had to do it in college - with IBM punch cards and a long wait for the (enormous) computer to print your schedule. Only then could you figure out if you got the spot you wanted or if somebody else beat you to it. If you got beat, you had to do the entire process again!

Is there somewhere to find the flow chart for classes for a freshman computer sci major?

Wow SECfam, the way I had to do it was with a piece of paper and a pencil. Then you went around to each table that was set up by subject. You told them which class you wanted and they flipped to that page. If it was full you had to pick another. Open, they wrote your name down on the class list and then signed the line for that class on the “schedule” you had that was then turned in at the end to submit.

When it comes time to work with DegreeWorks, here is a helpful link: [DegreeWorks | The Office of the University Registrar - The University of Alabama](http://registrar.ua.edu/services/degreeworks/)
