Where is the "variable section" located?

<p>I've heard that the "variable section" that doesn't count toward your final score is somwhere in the first 7 sections of the test. Is this true? If I recall, I remember seeing something that someone wrote: "Save your energy for the last three sections because those will definitely be counted toward your score." Please clear me up on this. Thanks.</p>

<p>Section 1: Essay
Section 8: Math or CR
Section 9: Math or CR
Section 10: 14 Writing Questions</p>

<p>it's an experimental section--one extra section in writing, reading, or math, which is just thrown in. there is no way to tell which section it is, so just take all of the sections equally seriously</p>
