I'm a junior in high school. My GPA weighted in 3.4 something and my unweighted GPA is 2.8 something. I recently got my ACT plus writing scores back and overall I got a 32. I'm taking the SAT in a few months before this school year is out, but I'm assuming I'll do okay.
I'm very bright and I always have been-all AP/Honors classes. My test grades are usually very good, however I usually don't do most of my homework(I do it half halfheartedly). Which I now know is a problem and this next semester I just won't sleep so I can do all my homework and study really hard. If I get straight A's my unweighted GPA will be 3.4. But that's the best case scenario..
I'm involved in a lot of activities ranging from theatre to speech to band to track and to over a hundred community service hours.
I get home usually about 6:30-7:00 and I will go eat dinner and then start my homework at eight. I usually don't finish until about midnightish, then I go to sleep and wake up at five. Every. Single. Day.
I know colleges don't care, and yes this is my fault, and I shouldn't even be sad because it's my fault and blah blah blah.
But I still kinda sorta really want to go to college to get a degree in-most likely- astrophysics. I really wanted to go to Madison however looks like that's not happening.
My last resort was U of I but I guess that's out of the question too?
Who would maybe accept me if I worked my butt of this upcoming semester?
MY FINANCIAL SITUATION IS FINE I AM SO VERY VERY LUCKY ABOUT THIS SO MY OPTIONS ARE VERY BROAD MONEY WISE

Well, I can tell you that colleges don’t look as much into freshman and sophomore year as they do junior year. So if you do work your butt off junior year and make a huge comeback, I’m sure colleges will at least look at that as a positive sign of improvement. Whether they decide to take you depends on how competitive admissions are, but that should be the least of your concerns right now. Basically, what you want to do right now is to be in control of your own destiny. Forget about what happened in the past; focus on what you can do right now. Good luck!
P.S. I think you have a shot at Indiana University or Miami of Ohio. Nobody is going to say you’re stupid if you say you went to one of these universities. But who knows? Maybe Wisconsin will take you after all!
