Where on the CMU web site can we find admission decisions?

Supposedly three days after notification goes out, CMU posts their decision. Where exactly on the CMU site can this posting be found?

Good Luck. to you and DS

you find it by going to prospective students, then clicking on undergraduate admissions, they at the bottum of the next page there are like there columns and in the center column there is a link to where am i in the process. Click that and just enter your info

Go to the CMU website... Prospective Students... Undergrad Admin... In the columns there is a link called "Where Am I In The Process?"

That should take you to a page where you have to type in the code you got when you applied (seven digits), your last name, and your birthdate.

Taxguy, I hope your D got in. I have been reading your posts and have enjoyed your impressions of Carnegie Mellon when you first visited. I will say a prayer!!! My D is at CMU and LOVES it. I will pray.

Sgiovinc1, Thanks for your well wishes. My daughter still didn't hear about admission, which is a very bad sign. I didn't think that she would get admitted because of her relatively lower score on the SATs compared to what is the CMU mean. I maybe thought that having taken 15 credits of actual college courses with a 3.65 GPA and having a strong portfolio, might have overcome a mediocre SAT. It looks like I was wrong.

However, she did get into a number of other schools with scholarship money; thus, she won't be very sad. In fact, CMU really isn't her top choice. It might have been mine, but I am very different from my daughter.

Frankly, if they don't take her, CMU would have made a mistake, and frankly, she isn't going to shed any tears either.

We are still waiting for RISD to make our decision anyway.

I know that for drama students (CFA) admission is 85%-90% based on the audition. That is why my S decided to audition 3 years ago. Is it not the same for portfolio reviews?

WCT, we were told that for portfolio reviews, it is 50% portfolio and 50% academics.

I can't evaluate her portfolio, but she was told by all of the other admission's officers who saw her work that she had a very strong portfolio. In addition, she has gotten portfolio scholarships from each schools that gives one for the portfolio.

However, one never knows. CMU has a very high average SAT requirement. Although their School of Design has a lower average SAT than that of CMU's other schools, it still has a fairly high SAT average compared to other art program such as RIT and Syracuse, Pratt and even RISD.

We still haven't heard but this delay is a very bad sign.

I'll still hope for good news to come your way soon.
