honestly, i have lost my hope for this whole process, i just pre-enrolled for cornell classes

so basically, my chances at columbia, are 8 percent, brown (not good according to ppl, so harvard level as one said), duke, like .15 percent,

and penn, like 15 percent

these odds are horrible

do the math, my chances of hitting one are like below 10 percent

i guess tihs means cornell for another 3 years, w.e., i have learned to accept it, i guess i can manage

its really horrible that i wasn't a year ealier, when brown had a 28 percent rate, penn was like 23 percent, and duke actually took some ppl like (20 percent)

w.e., peace, i really need to get this out of my mind

Is Cornell so bad? I'm sure it would be better than community college! :D

Why do you want to leave Cornell, BTW? Just curious, because I'm actually applying to Chicago and Cornell. I've never been there, but Cornell looks like it's really beautiful.

I also got the whole "app fee paid/app fee waived" on my credentials link (back when it existed...). I remember thinking it was weird, and then just assuming they'd cash my check eventually, but they still haven't, and they haven't beaten down my, er, email inbox looking for the $60. I can't complain!
Well, I can't complain about the fee.... the waiting and the fact that they seem to have lost my Dean's rec... that ticks me off. :/

Bbal is right on the money. I spent from mid January until early March trying to find out if they had received all of my materials. I knew they had been sent, but no one could tell me if they had been received and the creditentials list did not include them. Finally, they were posted as having been received - on March 7. I had to send everything six weeks early to have it posted a week late. Does it really take an organization that is supposed to be one of the best on the planet that long to perform a simple task?

And now, a group of people willing to spend roughly 50K/year for Chicago's education are being treated like crap. If legitamate reasons caused them to be late - fine. Just let us know what is going on and do not make promises that you don't keep. Jerry's post on Tuesday was vague and he has not been heard from since. It shows a complete and total lack of respect.

I am certain we are all attractive candidates at most schools. I have several going out of their way on almost a daily basis to attract me to their school. They are treating me like a potential customer and a human being. Chicago seems above this kind of behaviour.

um, if this treatment is any indication of how chicago treats its own students, then i won't be attending wat-so-ever,

i got admitted last year, and this is just a disgrace how they are behaving themselves over there

i sent myself in late feb, calling every other week to see if they had my stuff, re-sent stuff, did all of this on my own, chicago never contacted me to tell me stuff was missing, so i get all of this stuff in, and wat happens, nothing.....

I dont know, perhaps its because I didnt apply EA, but I think that some of you are taking this a little too far. I agree that this wouldnt happen for freshman apps and it sucks to wait even a minute longer than your 'supposed' to, but Im sure they are doing the best they can. The new image system +chicken pox (...) +other things they don't want us to know about is why the decisions are delayed and thats about it. Maybe a lot more ppl applied, maybe they have new staff...ofcourse none of this is a valid excuse to delay the decisions of so many students, but whatever....i dont know where Im going with this. Im bored and I have no acceptance/rejections coming from colleges any time soon so Im complaining about others complaining...ill stop now

Overall the blog is a bad idea, imo. Just keep things behind closed doors, and no one will complain because they will have no reason to.

Honestly, I've been too negative myself. Now that I step back and think about it, it's now only 5 days (4 business days) past "mid-april," which was a vague promise time to begin with. If there was no blog, there would have been almost no reason to get frustrated.

I can't believe how crazy that blog has been. Bloggers are either elevating their language to the point that they sound like they are being facetious (trying to impress Jerry?) or they are sucking up to the point where its embarrassing to read (keep up the good work of not getting the work done?). Then two days ago came the new twist- outright malice to other transferring students when we all are in the same boat and all feel jerked around in this process--including those who still manage to coo "I hope your son or daughter gets well soon (PS that was one of the all time lamest excuses-and then he didn't even post the next day). Anyway, I haven't written anything on the UChicago blog- but I really needed to get that off my chest and sorry if I offended anyone.

it's true, everything sucks for us right now, as it probably does for the people reading our apps. I think we should all just chill.... things will resolve themselves.

Is anyone else a little annoyed that Jerry couldn't even leave us a little note to get us through the weekend. I mean he has the whole weekend to chill and he can't just say "We're getting there...". Annoying.
