Where (should) freshman engineers house?

There is a sense that freshman engineers are better off living on central campus (? Hill) since most, if not all, courses are on central campus.

Is there general consensus on that? Are there other advantages/disadvantages to living on North campus during the year? How would YOU rank housing preferences (and why) for a freshman engineering student?

Will post a separate thread on learning communities and relevance to housing.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I think most people live on central then move up to north campus later when more of their classes will be engineering classes

i’m on central as a freshman engineer and it’s fine. the bus system works well enough (you only have 2 classes on north anyways) and i’d much rather live on central. i honestly don’t see myself ever living on north… i’m living on campus next year and when i live off campus i’ll try to live somewhere close to a commuter north stop ;)
