Where should i apply for electrical or computer eng grad school in US??? (GPA=3.4)

hey guys, i'm from university of ottawa, not the greatest i know. my gpa is 3.4/4 right now. i plan to apply for grad school for electrical eng, computer eng prefered, in US. my targets are Carnegie Mellon University, UCSD, Southern Carlifornia and Columbia. is it totally unrealistic? ^^ hope not.

OR, if it is totally unrealistic, where should i apply for?

by the way, i am a student leader in one of the biggest club in my univ. do you think that background will help, leadership, teamwork, community sense, that kind of stuff. thanks a lot.

ps. this is my very frist thread. i like it here, so far!! appreciated!

Carnegie Mellon, Stanford, Berkeley, Stanford, etc.

Make sure your test scores are unbelievably high to make up for the GPA and though all 4 of the universities I listed might be reaches, you should give them a shot and have a nice safety list to fall back on.

Recs/essays/E.C.'s are important but your GPA will still hurt you a bit.

Accepted... He's talking about grad school admission, so EC's are not that important. You're GPA is okay, but make sure you do well on your GRE's... The deciding factor will be your rec's... If they are very good, I think you'll have a decent chance at those schools...

Thanks guys, your word is encouraging!!
