Hey everyone,
I am from Ireland Ireland and would love to study in the US starting in 2012-13. I am new to the whole college system in the US and would appreciate it if you could recommend some good colleges based on the following stats:
3rd year of high school: 3.4 GPA, took 9 honor classes and 1 regular class (average amount of subjects per student)
5th year of high school: 3.6 GPA, took 6 honor classes and 2 regular class (took one extra subject for last two years)
(Only the above two years are recorded and matter in Irish schools)
In the top 25 % of my class at least.
Currently doing British a levels which are equivalent to one year of us college.
Played on school basketball team for 3 years.
Played on school football team for a year.
Member of freshman mentor program.
Have had jobs in a construction firm, a grocery store and currently work in McDonalds.
Member of Irish Pioneer Quiz and Sports team.
Was member of a 3rd placed quiz team at a National quiz.
Played basketball for 3 years for local club.
Played football for 3 years for local club and was captain for a year.
Done work experience in a pharmacy for a week.
Volunteer every weekend in a charity store.
Volunteered in local nursing home.
Member of a youth cafe committee.
Excellent letters of recommendation from school principal and a current teacher.
I hope to do lots more volunteering during the summer and get more involved in sports again.
Also my budget is about 20,000 for tuition fees alone so since there are many decent colleges at this price I will need colleges that offer some sort of finance to international students.
Thanks very much for all your help. I really appreciate it!
