What would be some good safe/target/reach schools for me? I'm a junior, so what should I improve?

GPA: 4.46
Ranking: top 2%, very competitive area
SAT: 2150: 670 CR, 750 M, 730 W
SAT II: physics, chemistry, Math II: 800s on all
ECs: girl scouts (gold award), play a varsity sport, various honor societies, 200+ volunteer hours
Don't really have much leadership, but I am a public outreach person for an organization.

what would you like to major in? I’m pretty sure you’d be able to get into most state universities and great nationally ranked universities. I think the only thing you would be lacking is in ECs. Basically, you should be looking at any college in the top 30 of the US News and World Report ranking. That should be a nice starting point :)

I think MIT and JHU would be bigger reaches than Duke or Cornell.
Cornell, if you apply engineering as a girl you’ve got a better shot because they want women in engineering.
Duke, similar but not as much.
Also if you could list the APs you’ve taken and your scores on the exams that would be good. If they demonstrate an interest in your intended major it’s good.
Also if you add ECs try to show interest in bioengineering

yea, I’m hoping to retake SAT in oct and aim for 2250, its too late now to show deep involvement in a new EC, but I may join more clubs such as MUN or DECA
do National/Science/Spanish Honor societies count as clubs, because I am members of all of them

btw, cornell is really cold. you should take into account what type of environment (weather wise and people wise) you want when you choose schools to apply to
