Where should I apply

I want to stay in Florida for college. My goal was to go to UF but at this point I have no chance. FSU even denied me. Where should I go from here?
Here’s my record:
3.9 GPA or 4.6 weighted
1490 SAT and 23 ACT
235 volunteer hours
Track and field
3 IB classes and 1AP this year

Who would accept me? Thanks!!

I would HIGHLY recommend retaking the SAT, which would improve your chances everywhere. Your GPA shows you have a lot of potential so if you take it again and really focus and study, you will probably improve your score.

I think with those scores, you can get into any of the non-flagship state schools, but apply as soon as possible to any colleges with rolling deadlines to maximize your chances. Also try New College; they might be willing to overlook your low scores because they’re a kind of quirky public LAC.

I’m not sure it’s worth taking the SAT again at this point. It’s kind of late. What are non-flagship colleges? Are they community colleges? I’m already considering going to Santa Fe then transferring but I’m just trying to look at other options.

UCF, USF and FIU are all very good Florida schools that are not “flagship” state schools. With your stats, you qualify for the Florida Bright Futures program and should not have difficulty getting into one of the above schools. You may also want to think about the Honors program at you local CC, as this may be an option for you as well.
Good luck.

Thanks! I applied to UCF and FIU so I should be able to get into one of them. I would prefer UCF. Though I’ve waited 11 weeks with no response. Ill keep waiting though
