Where Should I Apply?

I am currently interested in RIT, UIUC, Purdue University, University of Michigan, Illinois Institute of Technology, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Drexel University.

Are there any other schools I should consider based on my stats? I would really appreciate any suggestions that you give me. Thanks!

Please post your Estimated Family Contribution. Preferred college size ? Which part of US ?

Stats wise:

RIT-Safety
UIUC-Match
Purdue-safety
University of Michigan-reach
IIT-safety
University of Wisc- match
Drexel University- Safety

Look at :

University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (match)
Iowa State University - Safety
Penn State University- Safety
Ohio State University - Match
Indiana University- Match(for business) (safety for other majors)

What can your family afford? Purdue will cost ~$45K/year for an out of state student. UMich is even higher.

My preference is a medium-sized college and I do realize that some of the schools I listed have a large population size which is fine with me. My EFC would not be much at all. I’ll be lucky if I get $1,000 per year. Financial aid is really important!

If you really do need FA then I wouldn’t waste $ applying to UMich or Purdue. Go to the other school’s web sites and use their Net Price Calculators to see what you can expect for FA. You can also see what colleges will give IL residents a discount.
You should first look into what kind of support you can expect from various colleges. This can be crucial to your success.
I know you’re probably interested in a “hearing” college, but have you looked into Gallaudet?

Look at need based schools

Loo at wake forest they do not look at act

No offense, but as parent of UW out of state student, UW is not a match. Out of state, 3.6 and 28 is certainly postponed and may be deny.

Also, out of state publics such as Purdue, UW and Michigan will not give you the financial aid you want.

Better bet is to identify schools where you qualify for merit aid. Also, look at instate public options, though I am not familiar with Illinois need-based aid policies.

No, I won’t be looking into Galludet. I am currently mainstreamed with a cochlear implant but it still affects my academics and social life. Thanks for the criticism for out-of-state schools. I am most interested in RIT because I will get 1/3 of regular tuition just for being a deaf student and it shouldn’t be too hard to get accepted. Are there any good Illinois schools that you guys know of because I’ve done a lot of research since freshman year and the only schools that looked like a match for me were UIUC and IIT…
