<p>where should i apply </p>

<p>this may belong more in the chances post, but I would really like some guidance as to which of these schools to apply to and how to get my white parents to visit because they're no where near as excited about college as I am and you know, they're white and middle/uppermiddle class.</p>
<p>ok, i'm interested in english, french, comparative literature (don't intend to major in it tho), and international studies
eventually I see myself either as a lawyer working for a good cause
(what, I'm not sure) or as some other type of grad
student perhaps to be a prof</p>
<p>I like the idea of a liberal arts college, I think the atmosphere and size would be good for me, but I don't want people pelting me with fruit because I agree with Bush on social security, tho very little else</p>

summer- kids at my school say everyone from our
school who has gone to gov are pretty much guaranteed
at least one ivy ( i know that's just talk, but I thought I'd
put that in there)

<p>okay now the only catch to the lib arts school idea is that none of them pretty much offer a internation studies major except as a field of study within poli sci, which I do not want, except vassar.
vassar appears to meet pretty much all my criteria having an open curriculum, relatively close to home, good international studies program, and a general feeling that I wouldn't be either the stupidest there or face cutthroat type competition.
I want to be happy, intellectually engaged and an integral part of the campus community and get involved in activities, perhaps women's crew, and have friendly relationships with professors.
Another major thing is I'd like there to be a model un team and a competitive debate team, not just a club.
I guess at any college, the resources are there to start an activity, but debate is very important to me.
btw aid is very important and I won't be appllying anywhere ed, but I would consider ea.</p>
<p>Thanks if you've read this far, and I hope someone can solve the enigma of what college to go to and the riddle of getting white parents to take a less than 2 hr drive to vassar and several other colleges within that distance.</p>
