So, I'm a junior girl at a public school in central NJ. I haven't taken the SATs yet, but my PSAT scores for critical reading and writing were 76/80, and 75/80 on math. I'm in 2 AP and 3 Honors classes, and my GPA is over 100%. I'm thinking of majoring in English, or maybe Creative Writing, Psychology, Classics, or Anthropology. So something very liberal-artsy. And I REALLY do not want to stay in NJ, but I think I would prefer somewhere on the east coast.

Does anyone have any recommendations for good schools I should apply to? What safeties do you think would be good for me? And money is a bit of an issue, so can anyone think of any great schools that wouldn't leave me paying off loans until I'm 40?

Oh, and I'm also a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, so Canadian schools might be a good option for me...

Suggestions??

Without any SAT reasoning or subject scores, it's kind of hard to tell. Is geography a major factor (like east coast school versus west coast school)?

Hamilton, Vassar, Wesleyan to name a few.

if you like a liberal-artsy major in a nurturing, liberal-artsy environment just go to usnews.com and look at the top 30 or so liberal arts colleges, plenty of really good ones right on the east coast, do some research on each and figure out which one best suits you. also make sure to check out dartmouth.

just because i think you'd be surprised by how much you like it, check out some of the universities in chicago, like uchicago and northwestern

a lot of "liberal artsy" schools also have LIBERAL pricetags! :) but if we can guesstimate your SATs from your PSATs you may be eligible for scholarships!

All three are excellent. Also look at Skidmore, Sarah Lawrence, Bard, Bowdoin, etc.
