Where should I apply?

I am a rising junior and I'm not sure where to apply. My school does not weight GPAs and I have a 3.72 taking the hardest classes for my grade level. I recently got an 800 on Math 2c subject test and I got a 226 on the PSAT as a sophomore. I am involved in a fair amount of volunteer work and I am part of my school's student government. What would be a good school for me?

What do you want to do with your life?

What do you think you would like to study in college?

What size of college/university do you think you would like?

What kind of environment (city, small town, suburbs, middle of nowhere) would you like to be in while you are in college?

How much money can you and your parents afford to pay?

How much money will the college/university think you can afford to pay (run the calculators at [FinAid! Financial Aid, College Scholarships and Student Loans](http://www.finaid.org) to find this out)?

Are you a boy or a girl? Would you consider a single-sex college?

Let us know, and we can give you more help.

Yeah; what YOU want in a school is probably more of a decisive factor than stats–unless you just want to go to the best school that’ll take you.

Sorry this is blacksheep76. I had to change my account (long story). I might be looking to go into law school after undergrad. I would prefer a larger city but certain suburbs (Palo Alto :)) Are okay by me. I am a male, but would not go to a single-sex college. Money is not an issue for me and my family.

bump 10 chars

double bump

someone answer!!!

Please!!!

You have a very good PSAT score, which probably will meant that you will have a very good SAT score, and also probably means that your mailbox is starting to fill up with junk mail from just about every college/university in the USA.

You have a good GPA, and a perfect Math 2c subject score.

You think you might want to go to law school eventually.

You think you prefer a college/university in a larger city, and most likely on the west coast.

Well, there are MANY decent options out there for you - probably too many. You need to find a safety (probably one of your home-state publics that will admit you based on your GPA and/or test scores), and then you need to come up with some more reasons for limiting the range of institutions that you want to look at.

1) It is OK to be arbitrary. I didn’t apply anywhere that didn’t have a swimming pool and didn’t offer a major in Latin. Other people won’t go out of state no matter what. Some will only consider Jesuit universities. You might look for some personal thing that you just can’t compromise on.

2) Possibly Pre-Law includes every single possible undergraduate major. You could get a bit more specific here. Not a lot of places offer majors in say, Fire Science/Fire Engineering. Something like that would instantly narrow your choices.

There are some nice websites that allow you to put in your possible major, your stats, your financial aid needs, a geographical region, etc. and then produce a list of possible matches. You could start with this one
