Where should I apply?!

Firstly, I'm going to be a senior and I'm screwed. Well, more like I think I'm behind in the whole process.

I want to go into art/design but preferably at a generic college, though I am open to any. Problem is: don't know where to start.

I prefer colleges with diversity. I don't mind about size really, but it'd be nice if it was somewhere that has friendly, intellectual people. I'm not into hardcore partying, though I don't mind if some exists. Preferably a college with a relatively nice campus, where the weather isn't too cold, and has a free environment. And of course, it must have a strong art/design department.

Stats
GPA: 4.9/6.0 (school has weird scale) somehow that ends up as a 3.9/4.0 according to my counselor(...?)
Rank: 15/approx. 375 = top 4%
SAT: 2030
CR: 680
M: 660
W: 690
EC: NHS (10-12) I'm putting 12th if I know I'm going to still be in it
Student Council (10-12)
Business Professional of America Secretary (10-12)
Science Club Promotions Manager (11-12)
German Club VP (10) [had to quit German because of schedule in 11th]
National German Honor Society (10)
I'll probably be in National Art Honor Society next year (running for president/school is new)
Not so much of volunteer but I'm gonna get as much as I can in.

As for awards, I've won quite a few, but they're usually just district level stuff. These are some of the bigger ones though.
Texas State VASE Art Competition - Gold Medalist two consecutive years (will enter next year too)
2nd Place Sam Johnson Congressional Art Contest
Placed at German state competition in multiple categories (two consecutive years)

I'm automatically admitted into UT Austin since I'm in the top 10% of my class, but are there any other reach, safety, and match schools?

Thank you guys!

Also go to
College Admissions and Search
and scroll down to
art major

where you can post this inquiry.

that way, you will be more likely to get an informed answer.

art/design at 'regular' schools? Temple's Tyler School of Art. We have a decent amount of Texans as well.

Some to possibly look at are Arizona State, SUNY Purchase (30 Minutes from NYC), USC and NC State. Syracuse also has a very strong art department. Best of luck!

Ah, but poi, doesn't Syracuse require 4 years of science? I only have 3...

It sure looks like they do. Sorry about that.

No it's my fault...lol I just didn't think I'd need it for my major.

you have very strong SAT scores, especially for someone who doesnt want to major in hard sciences/business. I'd suggest State schools, as they have more diversity than LACS, and you probably wouldnt want to waste your time at a place like HYPSM where everyone is hyperfocused on academics.

I see...thanks

I don't know exactly what you mean by "cold", but check out Bard.
