I am considering applying to NYU CAS, so I would like to know my chances to get in along with suggestions of other schools that I should apply to.

your HS stats will hold you back. if you can wait another year and keep those grades up, you’ll be a competitive applicant.

Can someone please help and tell me where to apply? I am very lost right now and have no idea where I should be applying.

…well my advice still stands. your HS stats will still matter a lot and that will make you a weak candidate for a lot of good schools. if you can keep up the good work and apply for junior year with similar grades, we can suggest tons more schools for you because you will have shown that you can handle difficult work.

if you transfer in for junior yr, making friends and looking for relationships will be tough. sure, you will have a prestigious degree, but then that will be the con part.

I don’t think you would get in for NYU CAS. Your high school scores are weak and no ECs.

What kind of area do you want to go to school in? Urban/rural? Do you want to stay in-state in NY? Is transferring to another SUNY out of the question? Want to stay on the East Coast? We don’t know anything about what kind of school you want, that is probably why no one has suggested possible schools to aim for.

I believe transferring Junior year would be too hard and too late. I would prefer an Urban school. Staying on the East Coast is not a necessity. The only school I would consider in the SUNY system is SUNY Binghamton. I am really just looking for a list of schools that I could possibly get into. As of now I have no idea where I stand. My grades from college are really good, but I do not know how much each school will take my high school grades into consideration. There must be a school that will see my two semesters in college and see potential and realize my change in my approach to school.

Try for NYU and see what happens. You have nothing to lose. Ironicallyunsure had a 3.49 from college and got into Cornell; I’m sure many would have said that her college grades would hold her back, but I’m sure she’d be kicking herself right now if she didn’t apply (and, somehow, had knowledge that she would’ve gotten in if she did).
