where should i consider transferring to?

I'm currently at a fairly well known school in Washington D.C., and I've found that the atmosphere and I just do not mix. The school is very "east coast preppy", and it seems like too many people are concerned with partying over studying. I'm looking at double majoring in poli sci and another humanity, probably art history. I am also looking for a school where the party scene isn't huge and studying is a top priority.A strength in international relations wouldn't hurt either though it's something I'd think more seriously about for grad school.
I would like to hear some thoughts on schools I was considering or additions I should make to this list:
Penn
Columbia
Cornell
Yale
UChicago
Northwestern
UMichigan
WashU
Stanford
Duke
Vanderbilt
Emory

Thanks

What’s your GPA? I’m assuming you attend GWU?

Well I was going to guess Georgetown based on the list of schools that the OP listed.

But if you’re set on transferring, should probably add some safeties :)

Just went to an info session on Johns Hopkins. Seems they have a great international relations program. Based on your list, I’m sure this would be within your reach.

I’m gonna assume you go to Georgetown: I think U.Michigan and Wash U could be considered safeties/matches for a Georgetown student. Georgetown is like one of the top 10 colleges in the country.

I don’t get why you want to transfer - Georgetown has a really good poli sci/IR program. You said you wanted to get away from “east coast preppy”, but almost all of the schools you listed are East Coast, and since they’re all top schools, there will be a lot of wealthy “preppy” type people. The preppy type aren’t usually the big partiers either.

Have you considered transferring to American or GW? Assuming you don’t already go there?

University of Chicago is not too preppy and certainly not a party school. If you love to learn and want to escape preps and partiers, it might be just the place for you.
